What a difference a few months make! After a difficult accident filled start to the year we have finally struck gold, after a fantastic start to July we ended the month on a high.
We took Blue to his first competition in two years, a local combined training just to get the ball rolling and see how he would cope. He has never been the best at dressage but pulled out a fantastic test to go into the lead. We were all shocked at this, it was his first event back he had over exceeded our expectations and we were over the moon. Just one pole down kept him from the top spot but this was the biggest step ever and I was so over whelmed after he had been out so long.
The next day we headed up to West Buckland for another BE 100, we produced a fairly average test with a good score for the quality of tests that there were in the section. Wally was a little poppit across the next two phases posting a double clear to finish on his dressage score. The event ran clockwise last year and provided very little drama however this year, the course ran anticlockwise and caused all sorts of trouble. It was a fairly big course for a BE100 so I was pleased with our achievment and to top it off we got a 7th and some more foundation points!
On wards and up wards !
